"Unwavering commitment to supporting others to grow and achieve goals"
“…The steps I need to take are clear now…You have given me something that has gone straight to the heart, and that will make a difference in my life.”

I wanted to express my gratitude and appreciation for your presentation on Learning to Bounce at today’s Kanata Kareer Group meeting. Your talk resonated with me on a very personal level.
What your talk provided for me was much more important than all of the hidden job market, and job search through network strategy material, I’ve seen. For me, you spoke to the elephant on my table – you spoke directly to the emotions and feeling that I need to acknowledge and tame before all that good job strategy can be put into motion.
My favorite part of your talk was when you told the story about someone who was unemployed for months, and after starting a business that required 10-12 hours a day of work, built a deck at home. I get it. Emotional state and motivation matter. I reflected on how little I’ve done for the past month that I have been unemployed because of my own unacknowledged emotional state, and contrasted that with how much I am capable of.
The most important point I got out of your talk was the need to recognize the emotional rollercoaster and then move beyond it. The steps I need to take are clear now. Your talk has given me the permission to have these feelings, to acknowledge them, and then the confidence and motivation to move beyond them to go do something useful with the rest of my life.
Then you said ‘give them something to talk about’, and you demonstrated the huge positive impact with an amazing conclusion to an amazing talk. Wow!
You have given me something that has gone straight to the heart, and that will make a difference in my life. Thank you so much.
Strengthens work & interpersonal relationships
“you can imagine the “aha” moment when I realized there was MORE to emotional intelligence…I think you are an extraordinary teacher and spent three days modelling the behavior you discussed in such a clear and genuine way.”

I was so excited about the Emotional Intelligence course. The good news is that nothing has changed about the motivation and energy the class left me with.
I thought I already know lots about emotional intelligence. I have worked hard to perfect my relationship skills and my social awareness skills, and I have been frustrated that no matter how good I got at them I’m have not always been pleased with my results. It felt like I was just banging my head against a wall.
Therefore, you can imagine the “aha” moment when I realized there was MORE to the emotional intelligence puzzle than just paying attention to others! It was as if a window snapped open. Of course I jumped through.
It was an amazing class. I give a lot of credit to my endearing fellow students and the excellent course work. But I think the most applause goes to you. I think you are an extraordinary teacher and spent three days modelling the behavior you discussed in such a clear and genuine way.

Allow us to share with you our gratitude and appreciation for your inspirational “Learn to Bounce” presentation. The material you presented was well put together, honest and useful. Your genuine, warm and inviting style made it easy for our members to resonate at a very personal level.
Your content went beyond the usual change management principles. More importantly your talk focused on the people side of change. You spoke to the emotions and feelings that we need to acknowledge and to manage to keep us grounded, motivated and productive. We enjoyed learning about the emotional journey we experience during changing times and how change not only creates stress, fear and uncertainty it also creates opportunity.
During these times of government budget review, you did an excellent job at driving home the most important things that both managers and employees need to do during tough times. All of the attendees enjoyed the activity lessons and the group discussion it generated.
